Withdrawal Policy
Nova Integrata: Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (NIJMS) expects authors to submit manuscripts only when they are fully committed to publication in the journal. Withdrawal of a manuscript after submission disrupts the editorial workflow, wastes the time of editors and reviewers, and may be considered unethical if done without valid reason.
1. Withdrawal Before Review
o Authors may request withdrawal before the peer review process begins without penalty, provided a formal written request is sent to the editorial office.
2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
o Requests to withdraw a manuscript during the review stage will be considered only in exceptional circumstances (e.g., errors in data, ethical concerns, duplicate submission).
o The author must provide a clear and valid justification in writing.
o If the reason is not acceptable, the journal may refuse withdrawal.
3. Withdrawal After Acceptance
o Withdrawing an article after it has been accepted for publication is strongly discouraged.
o Such cases will be considered a serious breach of publication ethics unless justified by significant issues such as research misconduct, irreparable errors, or violation of ethical standards.
4. Unethical Withdrawal & Penalties
o If an author withdraws a manuscript without valid reason—especially after peer review or acceptance—the journal may impose sanctions, including:
§ Banning the author(s) from future submissions for a defined period (e.g., 2–3 years).
§ Informing the author’s institution or funding agency of the breach.
5. Withdrawal of Published Articles
o Once an article is published, it cannot be withdrawn. If significant errors or ethical violations are discovered
6. Procedure for Withdrawal Requests
o The corresponding author must send a signed request stating:
§ Article title, list of authors, and submission ID.
§ Reason for withdrawal.
§ Confirmation that all co-authors agree to the withdrawal.
The editorial board will review the request and notify the author of its decision
